Bilingual website for a UK-trained legal firm serving the UAE market — authoritative, clear, conversion-focused. Extended into a wordmark logo and a small merch set.
01Challenge
Makhsimov & Co. began as a blank slate — a name, a clear vision and a launch deadline, but no identity, website or materials. The firm practices corporate law, business-setup services and FinTech-related legal support in the UAE.
Its audience: Russian-speaking entrepreneurs and investors entering the UAE market, many unfamiliar with local regulation, registration procedures and administrative requirements. The brand had to communicate expertise, build trust, and make complex legal services genuinely easy to understand.
02Research
The identity exploration started with the obvious legal symbols — a heraldic lion, the scales of justice, references to legal literature. Each conveyed authority, but each felt either too conventional or too close to existing legal clichés; several read as distinctly British rather than regional.
To build something distinctive and memorable, the direction shifted away from literal metaphor toward a custom typographic logo — a primary wordmark plus a compact mark for digital and iconography.
03Solution
The key strategic decision was restraint. Legal firms tend to prove themselves through volume — endless practice areas, credentials and biographies. Instead, the site is built on a clear information architecture: visitors quickly grasp the services, the key legal processes and the support available, without wading through clutter.
The engagement covered content strategy and copywriting from scratch, a bilingual site architecture, legal-compliance considerations for the UAE, and a custom WordPress CMS the team can run themselves.
The hardest decision wasn't what to show — it was what to leave out.
04Visual Direction
The system pairs deep violet with bright turquoise. Violet carries confidence, professionalism and status; turquoise adds a contemporary, FinTech-leaning character that sets the firm apart from more traditional legal competitors. Geist anchors the typography, balancing corporate credibility with a modern digital voice.
Photography of Dubai grounds the brand in its region, while illustrations inspired by historic academic libraries evoke knowledge, tradition and legal expertise.
05Outcome
Beyond the website, the project produced business cards, stationery, branded pens and the essential corporate materials the firm needed for launch and daily operations.
The result was a complete legal brand ecosystem — identity, bilingual website and business collateral — delivered within the client's launch timeline, ready to establish a professional presence in the UAE market.
